Horrible Ultrasound experience...
So I did find out that I am a few days further along...today I am 8 weeks 2 days, but the tech comes out and says my hubby and dtr ahve to wait till they get the measurements..ok..I knew this. She brings me into the room and says "I have to do an internal so they can't come in" then starts the us...I was shocked at her candidness...she never let me see the screen...did tell me 144 beats for the heart....so I ask if husbands are allowed during an interal and she says "yes" so I say :could you do me a favor?" This was her reply, "I am NOT dropping this thing to go out there and get him" What a B--CH!!! Seriously? DId she have to be so rude? SO I come out and now my husband is PISSED!!!! I am calling and reporting her today..I get the whole no kids in there while an internal, but the rest of the rudeness???????

OMG! My husband would have Marched in that room and told her a thing or two! My mother and my husband were in the ultrasounds during several different internal ultrasounds I have had. There was NO reason for that tech to treat you the way that she did. You are absolutely right in reporting your experience! There is NO excuse that makes it acceptable to treat a patient this way. (Trust me I used to manage a doctors office, and this technician would be on thin ice with me following a complaint of this sort) Can you request a new technician in advance for next time or make sure you come on a day that she is not in the office?
I had my first ultrasound last week given by my OB doctor and it was just me and my 9 year old daughter. It was internal and she didn't even know. Was to excited to notice. Found out about the twins. I would have been pissed if I had to be alone! At least the baby is doing well. I would get her fired!

Here in Canada they don't let Dh's or anyone in the room with you for early ultrasounds, unless it is your 12 week or 20 weekish scans, but then it is only the last 10 min or so, after they have done everything they need too. Also they don't let you see the screen either. It sucks!!! Sorry you had such a horrible experience.
I spoke to her supervisor today and she told me that she has had several prior complaints about her...she said that there was no reason for her to act in that way and she even gave me her number so that when I go for another one I can call so she can set me up with someone else. She did tell me that I ahd a healthy, viable baby!! Thanks for all the support everyone!!
